knock the girls out of the number 1 spot. Day26’s self-titled debut bumps Danity Kane’s "Welcome to the Dollhouse" from the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. the new album from the guys of MTV’s “Making the Band 4″ moved 190,000 copies this week, which is actually a decline from Danity Kane’s 236,000 copies last week. Day26 is the first new male group to open at No. 1 since 2001, when D12 debuted. good job guys. i guess they have the fan base they needed to accomplish what they want.

"Unexpected" Set For Release By Michelle Williams

Music World/Columbia Records will release Unexpected, the new pop/dance solo album from Michelle Williams, on August 12th. the album will feature such producers as Jim Jonsin (Danity Kane, Lil Wayne), Rico Love (Usher, Omarion), Wayne Wilkins (No Doubt, Pink), Andrew Frampton (Natasha Bedingfield, Kylie Minogue), and Stargate (Beyoncé, Mariah Carey). the album seems to be very mid-tempo with heavy dance and house influences. the only song that’s sounding like it doesn’t fit into the mix is Stargate produced track “Stop This Car.” we’ll see though. I must admit, I really am digging this album direction.
